Carnival Themed 30th Birthday Party in San Clemente, CA

Who doesn’t love a good carnival or fair?

One of our long time clients loves to throw parties, and she goes all out when it comes to decor and themes.  Recently, we were contacted by her event planner, Monica, to provide some appetizers and entrees for her daughters 30th Birthday Party.  One of the daughter’s favorite fairs is the OC Fair.  They wanted the party to be fun and hair like, but they didn’t want it to be juvenile.

The home is a gorgeous estate in the Nixon Estate area of San Clemente.  I believe the home was once owned by Frank Sinatra himself.  The inner courtyard of the home was transformed into a vintage themed carnival complete with vintage games like Balloon Blast, Skee Ball, Dart Game and of course a dance floor.  There was also a bar for adult beverages.

We definitely wanted to incorporate fair/carnival themed food into the menu. And the definite hit of the night was an appetizer which was a Donut Grilled Cheese.  Yes.  You read correct.  A Donut Grilled Cheese made by taking a homemade glazed donut, cutting it in half horizontally, flipping the donuts inside out, adding some American cheese and frying the whole thing in some butter.  We couldn’t make these quick enough!  In keeping with the theme, we also served Mini Corn Dog Muffins, Grilled Hot Link Bites with Mustard, Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños Stuffed with Cream Cheese, Fried Chicken Sliders, Mac & Cheese, and a Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta.

MR. J’s Kitchen provided some of the food for this event.  There were many vendors hired by Monica and Jake Duke Studios.  Please contact us or you can reach Jake Duke Studios for a complete list of vendors if you are interested in a party like this.  Everyone loved the theme and the food and fun was had by all!
